British Airways – Service Updates

  • British Airways direct services to Kuala Lumpur have been restored after a 14 year absence. Flights are daily and depart from Heathrow Terminal 5. Kuala Lumpur is the home hub for oneworld partner, Malaysian Airlines (MH) services. For eligible customers, lounge access to the Malaysian Airlines’ Golden Lounge.
  • Customers can now enjoy a new direct service from Gatwick, Manchester and Edinburgh to Madrid Iberia Express, under a British Airways codeshare. Iberia’s short to medium haul airline offers customers the full Iberia service with the value for money of a low cost carrier, as well as providing easy connections to Iberia’s extensive network of destinations in Latin America.
  • Please note that BA will now automatically allocate a seat for all customers booking a Hand Baggage Only (HBO) fare, available on short-haul flights, when check-in opens. If customers wish to change their allocated seat they will have to pay to do so via ‘Manage my Booking’ or at time of online check-in. Automatic seat allocation applies to all passengers, including all Executive Club cardholders booking HBO fares. Passengers wishing to select their own seat for free should purchase a baggage inclusive fare instead of an HBO fare. For all baggage inclusive fares seat selection remains free of charge: > from 24 hours before departure for all passengers. > from 7 days before departure for Bronze Exec Club cardholders. > at any time for Silver & Gold Exec Club cardholders.
